Review: A sweet, cute story with all the makings

Small town life can be a royal pain. Especially when everyone knows everything about everyone in town. Ms Brenton has shared with us a glimpse of the small town life and what it’s like to move forward with so many eyes watching.

I connected with Liz from the get-go and could really feel her anxiety about what she thinks the town is thinking about her. Come to find out….AH HA!!! You thought I was going to spoil didn’t you? Nope not on your life. If you wanna know what goes down between cute Liz and studly David, and you know you do, then you just need to read. Though there were a few blank pages in the PDF that I am not sure were supposed to be there I promise you won’t be sorry if you grab this one :)

Review: The descriptions, smells, textures and dialog of Bank Job drop you into the action of the story and make you live each moment with the characters. There were a few instances where the choreography of the action had me confused, but the story soon had me in its grip again. The dichotomy of Roger’s position with this group of thugs and who he is on the inside was an intriguing element of the story. His role in the story isn’t heroic yet he treats Susan with tenderness and the love scene is emotional and poignant. I thoroughly enjoyed Bank Job.

A for the presentation score on this book, the editing and formatting are perfect, but I didn’t think the cover was a good reflection of the story.

Review: I wish I could have given this story a higher score because the author does know how to string words together. The characters are well developed, the pacing is easy to read and the descriptions make the setting easy to see.

The problem for me with this story is that I found the characters unlikable and the story to have little plot or concept. I kept thinking all the angst with the parents was going to go somewhere, but it doesn’t. They are just jerks and Tom allows it. They have no reason for not liking Leslie. They’ve never met her and Tom doesn’t talk to them often so they can’t know much about what is happening in his life. There is some redemption at the end, but it wasn’t satisfying. He doesn’t make a leap of faith but rather has the facts and truth before he goes after her. I can make a mental stretch and say that yes, the love elements and the personal conflict for the characters are there. Leslie is ready for “forever” and Tom might be, but to risk forever he must subject Leslie to his horrible parents.

There were other problems as well. I never got the deal with the bar. The bar was closed, (but wasn’t) and Tom didn’t seem to have any other direction in his life. I didn’t understand why Leslie wanted him to close the bar. I understood that there was some sort of conflict with a minor character Archer, but what that threat was I’m not sure. The backstory provided contributed little to the understanding of their history.

Review: I enjoyed Eternity. It isn’t heavy with plot but the story is an engaging tale of lust and sex. There were a few times that it seemed the roles of Damien and Nathan blurred, but Jason was a fabulous character—submissive with an agenda of his own. A story with bite, hot encounters and an ending letting the reader know the romping adventure of these three will continue. Eternity is a good story, worth reading and recommending. A book you don’t want to put down.

I enjoyed Got Lemons? However, I found the long passages of narrative weighted down the story. The dialog and characters were so engaging that when the story slipped back into narrative, it stalled the flow. If the long paragraphs were broken up with more interaction between Marcus and Noah, this would have been a perfect story. It’s still an enjoyable short story, worth reading and recommending. A book you don’t want to put down.

Review: Brazen Moon is a perfect example of a lot of story packed into a few pages. Non-stop action, tight writing, vivid characters with so much sexual tension that you just couldn’t wait to see the passion explode. The set up is great, the story unfolds nicely and because this is a series, the ending leaves you wanting more. The sex is hot. My only complaint is that I found many of the aspects had been done before. There wasn’t a fresh take on demon hunting paranormal erotic romance. However, if you love demon hunting paranormal romance as much as I do, you don’t really care. Like chocolate cake, I always want to go back for more. This is a book worth reading and recommending. I didn’t want to put it down.

Review: Not a bad little diddy :)

Though I am not sure the story will stand out in my mind for months to come I have to say that it was a very enjoyable read. Both characters were well written and the plot developed. I enjoyed the interaction and the sex. Though there were a couple instances where I found myself saying OUCH, it didn't detract from the overall presentation of the story or the titillation factor.

This is an author that I would read more from. :)

This little tale was well written, hot and sexy. The love scenes were smoking and the characters easy to like. I loved the description of the chocolate shapes that were referenced in the story. Hmm wonder if I can find any locally? One in particular ;) I really began to connect with the heroine in this story as we follow her and we see her fears of an arranged marriage to two virtual strangers. In the end I have to say it all worked out and I was glad I was along for the ride :)

Review: Wow, the writing was superb, the characters memorable and the plot perfectly balanced with sex and fun BDSM elements. This story is in the Taboo (BDSM) line at Ellora’s Cave, but the actual BDSM elements are mild and a perfect introduction for a reader who hasn’t sampled a story with controlling Alpha hero. I didn’t see Drake as the Dom of typical BDSM, rather that he knows he needs to fill the role if he wants to be the man for Gia. Gia comes with a lot of baggage and issues with trust, for good reasons. She’s had her life ripped apart from those claiming to love her, including a psycho stalker. For her it will be difficult to find a lover that will not only feed her submissive needs, but that could partner her in a relationship. Gia in Wonderland is a smooth slide into an emotional connection with romantic suspense elements to keep you on the edge of your seat.

OY! What a great story!!! I couldn't get enough of the characters, the plot, the...well, everything! Ms Davy has done a fab job of pulling me in and keeping me hooked with a tale of a woman who is desperate for her fathers approval and a mans journey to start a new life for himself and his little girl.

Set in a quaint ski town, these three are thrown together and discover that sometimes the path to healing isn't what you expected :) It's better.

Review: Every now and again, there is a book that you hate to write the review. This is one of those times because I know Ms. Skyze is a better storyteller than this book delivers. (In fact read Ignited and see the review here )

There were a few moments of redemption where the action was fast and the sexual tension thickened. But sadly it wasn’t enough to save this story. The story and characters are rife with contradictions. Chapter One was weak, the motivation not only contrived but the characters are both unlikeable. In the author’s own words, Ethan could be a rapist standing at her door. But she still invites him in and is screwing him within minutes. The pacing and timing are off which makes the story difficult to follow. The sex was mechanical and even though they are complete strangers, there was no connection. And because they were complete strangers, I didn’t buy why Bailey was indignant, nor did I buy the instant love between two people who only wanted to fuck. The overdramatic way Bailey’s never felt this way before and for Ethan, she’s getting under his skin, but wait they don’t know each other. By the end of the story, he wants to take care of her and she’s in love. But it hasn’t been a full day. Ethan doesn’t want a serious relationship because women are more trouble than they are worth (funny for a guy in a whole heap of trouble) and then suddenly he is thinking about a future with her, a future he’ll sacrifice to keep her safe from the mobsters he owes money to. Which brings me to a very unheroic character that not only gets involved with gambling and the mob, but then potentially leaves his sister in the crossfire of the thugs. Alas the ending was too easy and I really didn’t get the “story” of this story. There was an abundance of graphic sex. But without investing the reader in the characters, I didn’t “feel” any of it. It was simply words on a page. Insert peg A into slot B. Even if you skip chapter one and pretend they’ve known each other longer than 15 minutes, this story still wouldn’t work for me.

Filled to the brim with laugh out loud scenes that made me say "Oh my God" out loud and smoking sex that scorched my hair. VERY NICE :)

I was just a little drunk on this story. I thought the phone sex scenes were arousing and I felt the nervousness and the longing from Adam. My only critique is that in a few places along the way I found the dialog repetitive although the story was still moving forward.

If you want an erotic m/m story that gives you as much emotional punch as scorching sexual chemistry, than this is a perfect story for you.

Review: Yowza. Saddle up Clay for me! I don’t think I’ve ever read a hotter opening scene. Ms. Lace has written a gritty, sex-clenching novella. Clay’s character has such a hard edge, but the mental, physical…sexual cut is so clean that the hurt feels so good.

I for one, couldn’t put the book down. I read it in one sitting and after the last page of the pdf was scrolled, I was pissed! I wanted more! The sex is hot, the men are hot, Lindsey is a bitch (okay I really love her, but want to hate her. Damn the luck of some women even in fiction) because she gets what all of us fantasy over. Two hot, muscular men, with a strong hands—both in touch and in their dominating ways. Damn, I can’t even write this review without remember the way I hummed right along with Lindsey. Saddle up and ride, baby. Ride until you’ve been Saddle Broke.

I really felt for all the characters who were involved in this unique situation. The author really did a good job in showing the motivation and the range of emotions for everyone involved. More than once I found myself wondering what I would do in the same situation as either Mrs. Desario or Sandra.

Thank you Ms Street for a story that not only made my computer screen steam but made me stop and think.

Review: Have you ever heard the saying "Can't see the Forest for the tree's?" Well, with this book I couldn't see the story for the words.

Let me start by saying that this is the first of Ms Kilgallen's works I have ever read. There were parts where the story flowed quite nicely and was easy to follow, unfortunately the sections that confused me far outweighed the parts that didn't. While I respect an authors desire to write authentic lingo, PLEASE make sure it is consistent and easy to read. I came across so many sections where I had to read a paragraph several times before I could grasp what was trying to be said that by the time I got it, I forgot what I was reading.

There were many words in the story that were penned in slang lingo that, though they might have been correct in 1870, reading page after page of dialogue filled with "yestiddy", "meebe", "p'bably", "skeered", and "jest" (to name only a few) became quite taxing on my brain. Not to mention the frequent misuse of the conjunction "y'all" If you are not familiar with this slang it is a combination of "you all" NOT to be confused with "you". Here is just one example of the misuse....“Sugar, y‘all so soft and cuddly I cain’t help wantin’ to touch you.”

Misspelled words (Apiece, Computer-ized, Viet Nam ), missing punctuations, and a few ickies (if a man EVER felt me up and said it was soft and squishy? EEEEW!) describing his penis rubbing along the birth canal in her lower body or "I‘m dying to suck on your nipples, like a l‘il babe starving for mommy‘s milk." NOT SEXY!! (These are just a few examples as there is no way I can name them all).

There seemed to be major holes in the editing in this work which I find to be a sad injustice. I feel that with decent editing this story could have been a much better read than what it was. A 200 page book has NEVER taken me 7 hours to read from start to finish. Though for me this story bordered on violating the Geneva Convention, I find myself drawn to certain parts where the dialogue was not so hard to follow and would read another of this authors works before I made a final decision about whether to read her in the future.

There were a few editing issues that I think should have been caught but other than that the story was solid and told well. Steamy love scenes and a family rift that just brings the whole story together. Oh yeah :)

Review: Oh my word...where should I start?

It's not very often that I come across a book that I have a really hard time finishing. The story, IMHO, had promise but it just failed to deliver. Aside for the blatant overuse of exclamation points (almost 150 in a 78 page PDF) that really started to become very jarring to me, the fact that from first phone conversation(Friday), first face to face meeting for lunch (Saturday), and the meeting for sex (Sunday) to his confession of love and a marriage proposal there is less than 3 days, and the "poking", "whoops" and other flowery sentiments, that upon reading had me groaning, the story just went down hill for me.

I can't even say that the sex got me worked up. I was so disinterested in the characters by the time Sunday rolled around that I found myself checking to see how many more pages were left. And one entire "Play" scene had me thinking about my last OB appointment...and not in a good way. (Not that they are ever thought of fondly but you get the idea) But I don't think I will EVER be able to look at another stethoscope with out visualizing it with a shiny metal butt plug attached to the end where the flat disk should be.

Review: The story had a nice set up, but the content soon becomes toxic. I think the author brilliantly penned a tale that if anyone were faced with the choice of what to do for their last 15 minutes of life, would agree with Dannie and Sean. Sex. Hard, gritty and deliciously tingly. But I was troubled by some aspects. Attention was brought to some details that didn’t have relevance to the encounter. I won’t spoil the ending but I found it cliché. However the beginning and the middle do hold up the story and make it enjoyable and worth reading.

Review: First let me start by saying that the two main characters ROCKED!! I really liked them from the very beginning and was pulled in and kept by the story.

I LOVED the fact that these two have a past and that it is touched on and explored through the story. The entire concept was wonderful.

The "fantasy" scenes felt a little odd to me as the story is written in third and they are in first (yes there is dialogue but the tags are all in first) and sort of separated from the rest of the story. For some reason my brain had a few issues flipping back and forth between third, first, third, first and so on BUT overall I still enjoyed the story as a whole :)

Review: If I were a man, and gay, my hell, would I want to Hide Out with Pete and Trev. Scrumptious, hilarious man flesh in a story with quirky characters, a rural setting and plenty of plot to keep the pages turning. Crisp dialog, tight storytelling, it was simply a pleasure to read. Ms. Allen has become a favorite must-read author.

Pete is stubborn and steadfast and Trevor is a smartass not always inclined to listen. Together they are as charming and they are hot. Their interaction with the neighbors is outrageous in the most wonderful way. While the white-hot sex adds the spicy to this tale; the secondary characters add the color. A romantic suspense with laugh out loud moments. When the final page was turned, I wanted to read it again.

Review: There is not much to say after reading this story except, can I have a drink and a smoke? A few opening lines to set the scene, a middle that is so deliciously naughty that I swallowed too, and then a couple of sentences to tie up the ends. But wait, there weren’t really any ends to tie up. This isn’t a story, more like a glimpse into the Daniel’s life. We don’t really know much about what takes him to the glory holes, nor do we know by the end. But we do know that anonymous sex fills a need in him. What this story does have is an incredibly well written blowjob encounter.

Review: The story moved along very well. Full of suspense, and edge of your seat reading.

The characters were easy to relate to and the plot easy to follow. I was pulled in from the beginning. The tension was nail biting at times and that made for a very fast paced, engaging story.

The issues I had were in Presentation. The formatting had some issues that I feel could have and should have been addressed before the release.

Review: This short story has it all. A secret, a villain, unsolved crimes, hot sex, a little humor and likeable characters. It’s fast, engaging and the ending will leave a smile on your face. I enjoyed the setting of a wildlife rehab and thought Ms. Campbell was brilliant when she weaved animal rescue with her cougar shifter. There are twists and turns in the plot, betrayal and misunderstanding. This story is a well rounded romp.

Review: I really enjoyed this story! Filled to the brim with family issues, a woman trying to sort out her problems, a man working past guilt and a romance that won't be denied.

There were times when I felt that the narrator didn't grasp the tone the author intended for the characters to have which made it a little odd for me to hear but other than that, it was worth the listen. A very entertaining story to hear. I loved every second, minute and hour.

Well, done, Ms Boniface and Audio Lark for crafting and putting together a story and presentation that kept me coming back until I heard every last word :)
