Blurb: Ava Lesarris has her life figured out. She has a great job, has accepted her latent wolf shifter identity and is looking forward to climbing the corporate ladder. When a faulty GPS unit leads her to a town called Strange Hollow, she’s in a quandary, even more so when she’s suddenly transported back to the year 1900.

Sam Tremaine is the last of his kind. He’s a phoenix, living in Strange Hollow during what should have been its greatest time—the founding year, but he can’t enjoy it. He’s dying which leaves him with one regret. He’s never found a woman whose spirit is as strong as his own. He wants be remembered but time is running out, not to mention he hasn’t been able to get “it” up for months.

Worlds collide as the past and present come together in Strange Hollow. Ava will need to figure out her purpose while Sam struggles to come to terms with his fate. If they’re lucky, the special town will offer the answers they’re both seeking before the next phase of life begins

Review: Ava is a self assured latent shifter who knows what she wants and what she doesn't. She is happy with her job, boyfriend and life. Or so she tells herself. On a road trip, she suddenly finds herself in Strange Hollow. A town that didn't exist on her GPS up until right before she ended up there. The woman she meets when she arrives assures her she is supposed to be in Strange Hollow. Maybe she will find "that which she doesn't think she needs", according to the woman who welcomed her. After a strange gust of wind, Ava finds herself in a different time, same place. Women wear corsets and layers of clothing. No high heels and certainly no cars.

Left to stand on the sidewalk talking to her Wolf, she attracts the attention of a banker named Simon. He has no idea why this woman is in his town wearing strange clothing, but he knows he needs her. The two of them are unquestionably drawn together. Sadly, their time is limited. Ava and Simon find themselves in a whirlwind romance full of heat and passion. A relationship Ava tries very hard to fight. She doesn't want to fall in love with someone she cannot spend eternity with. She may be whisked back in time any moment. Useless to fight it, she surrenders and opens her soul to him.

I was on the edge of my seat through every page turning moment. The characters and secondary characters in this book need their own stories. I wanted to know more about them and I hope there will be more about this town called Strange Hollow. Sandra Sookoo describes the townspeople and the place so vividly. It's a place you are certainly sucked into. After I finished the book, I had a hard time remembering I wasn't 'actually' there.

It has a 'not so typical" ending and you will not forget it. It was a refreshing twist on the happily ever after. The sassyness of Ava and her wolf combined with the charm and desperation of SImon are a wonderful combination. I laughed, I cried and a few hours after reading this--I still teared up thinking about it.

Definitely a great read!!

Erotic Futuristic Romance

Blurb: Major Rick Keenan has a difficult mission: repair his broken shuttle, rescue a missing crew member and get off a near-dead planet. Angry that the U.S. is discontinuing the space program, he wants to find a discovery that will revise the government's position. Unfortunately, that discovery might just kill him, not to mention put his libido, on a quick launch sequence.

Marin is one of the last of her people. Forced to flee to the planet in her childhood, she's kept herself hidden away in darkness, safe in a castle-like fortress, only coming out when she needs to feed--from human blood. Convinced she'll never fit in, she shuns all contact, yet taking Rick hostage as a food source chips away at her perceptions even as he ignites her desire.

Though their differences threaten to tear them apart, their humanity binds them together. In a world where only the strong and determined survive, does a happily ever after stand a chance?

Review: Fractured is a futuristic tale set in the year, 2061. While trying to keep Earth's space program alive, Major Rick Keenan discovers the love of his life. Willing to give up everything he knows, in order to build a life with his purple hued, blood-sucking mate, Rick hopes his choice will not only save the space program but help him achieve his life long goal of learning from and uniting alien cultures.

Ms. Sookoo, has done a wonderful job of creating a fairy-tale romance with Sci-Fi roots. It's a beauty and the beast tale in which the author successfully unites a blood-sucking beast with a space hero. The sex scenes are sweet. Each is realistic and descriptive enough to be considered mildly hot without giving in to the purple prose monster. Fractured is a quick, fun, thoroughly enjoyable read and one I would highly recommend.

Blurb: The year is 1822 and life on the high seas just became more complicated for Ethan Williams. He’s a pirate with a conscience, and even though killing and plundering are his way of life, he’s searching for much more—and he’s tired of being alone.

Jacqueline Massey is connected with the American Navy. It’s her job to trick men into revealing they are indeed pirates. The guilt she feels about sending them to their doom is equaled only by her longing to be loved. But Jacqueline has a secret—one that has intertwined her fate with Ethan’s for longer than he’s known.

Can destiny bring together a pirate and an angel during the season of miracles, or will a watery death by Davy Jones locker drown their love?

Review: The story is fantastic until the last few pages. But don’t let that stop you from reading it. Just know that you’ll have one of those moments that make you think “huh.” I thought it was corny and over the top. However the writing has such a nice tone. It was easy to read, enjoyable, sexy, and entertaining. There’s passion, action and tummy tugging moments so I’m a happy romance reader.

Blurb: Judith Goode, wrongly accused of witchcraft during the trials in 1600 Massachusetts, casts a spell on the black velvet dress she intended to wear for her lover’s return. If she can’t realize true love then she wants to ensure that any woman who wears the dress will, but fate has other plans.

Even though Judith is now in ghost form, her quest to unite her soul with her lover’s burns strong. The enchanted dress has survived for two hundred years and is now in the hands of Carolina Cox who wears it to a masquerade where she meets Paul Brown. Love blooms and is realized, yet life’s problems prevent a perfect match.

Disheartened through the years, Judith gives the attempt one last time in modern day Indianapolis by putting the dress in the hands of Jacob Howson, one of her last living ancestors. He’s a computer programmer looking for love and finds it by literally running into Lexy Brown at a dry cleaner.

Sometimes your destiny can be found under the light of a Hunter’s Moon.

Review: A very interesting tale that involves more than two characters.

I enjoyed the intertwined stories and the way I was able to follow the journey from beginning to end. While I felt this story could have been a show stopper had it been longer and more in depth, the short, condensed version that came in this story was not a loss :) Ms Sookoo did a good job showing the journey and making the characters come to life.

Blurb: When unassuming mailroom worker Kate Little agrees to become an underwear tester for a marketing company, things get uncomfortable fast. Not only has she never worn “fancy” underpants before, she has to work closely with handsome marketing manager Bryan Eddleman, and that’s enough to keep her in a constant state of confusion. Trouble is, Bryan’s competing with another manager for a promotion that hinges on the results of the test group. Kate can’t determine if his sudden interest is really in her or her surprisingly insightful weekly reports on foundation garments. Add a jealous coworker out to sabotage Kate’s budding love life, an overly helpful gay friend with nothing better to do than shove her into Bryan’s arms, and a rambunctious teacup dog to the chaos and you’ll have a typical day in Kate’s less than ordinary life. The last thing she needs is panty lines.

Review: LMAO!! OMG what a rush. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a book this much. Usually I am not big on first person stories, but Oh Ms Sookoo! What a good job you have done. There were times I thought I was going to laugh so hard I would wet my pants (thank goodness that disaster was skirted)

I loved the little “rules” at the beginning of every chapter. NICE TOUCH!! And I have to say that I agree with most of them. As the reader, I got to follow the heroine on her journey as a panty tester. Oh My Word! WOW does she have some wardrobe malfunctions that would have sent me to my grave. (Shhh don’t tell anyone but I too have experienced a couple of her snafoos. Which ones? I ain’t tellin :) ) And even as mortifying as they were when I experienced them….They were funny as hell to read about….so long as it wasn’t me. Terrible I know. But hey, it’s the same reason we all laugh at America’s Funniest Videos. :)

The only thing that I can say is that the blurb does not reflect that the story is in first person.

Blurb: Anne Jenkins never believed there was a heaven or hell, so when she’s rescued from a runaway horse by a guy who claims he’s a demon, her freak detector goes off. She demands proof, and the leather-clad biker sets some local wildlife on fire. She starts to trust in a hurry.

Gregg Carter, bound to the Devil for all eternity because of an audit gone wrong, seizes the opportunity to take possession of Anne’s soul as a way to please his boss. What he didn’t count on was the fact that his libido would take the one-way bus to crazy town as he gets to know her better.

Trouble is, Anne and Gregg spend so much time trying to hide their true selves from each other, they can’t escape the attraction that builds between them. But everyone knows demons and humans don’t mix, and neither can two people who have no futures.

Review: ROFL!!  *wipes a tear from eye* Yeah, it was gooooood :)

Auditor gone Demon? What a cute catch. I ripped through this one in no-time-flat and was ready for more. A wonderful job with a twist at the end and a sassy grandmother I fell in love with. It was a wild ride that kept me glued to my computer until the very last page. This is one that will be reread several times and I will be recommending it to all my friends.

*SNAPS* Ms Sookoo, if this is what I have to look forward to from you books in the future...you have a fan :)

Blurb: Amelia Pritchart’s life is a mess. Her house is crumbling down around her, she’s got a bad case of writer’s block, and divorce papers await her signature. The trouble is, she still loves her husband.
And if that’s not bad enough, she comes face to face with a ghost—who has problems of her own. The restless spirit demands Amelia help her tormented soul so she can finally rest in peace. Intrigued, Amelia sets out to grant the wish, but soon finds there’s much more to the ghost than just being dead.
When her estranged husband shows up on her doorstep on Halloween, Amelia must face two pasts, both full of pain. Can she help the ghost without becoming eternally haunted? And can she face her own fears and insecurities about her marriage to grasp the second chance at happiness her husband offers?

Review: What a wonderfully heart warming story! The moving from present to the past to show the story of these two sets of lovers and the heartache was wonderful. There were times when I was following the story for the ghost, Elizabeth that I wanted to cry.

Amelia has her own issues to deal with along with trying to help Liz. I ached for her, too. Such a tale with amazing characters and a well told story is a rare find. I was well satisfied with the ending and the resolution for both couples. A delight that I am sure I will revisit in the future :)
