Review: Ava is a self assured latent shifter who knows what she wants and what she doesn't. She is happy with her job, boyfriend and life. Or so she tells herself. On a road trip, she suddenly finds herself in Strange Hollow. A town that didn't exist on her GPS up until right before she ended up there. The woman she meets when she arrives assures her she is supposed to be in Strange Hollow. Maybe she will find "that which she doesn't think she needs", according to the woman who welcomed her. After a strange gust of wind, Ava finds herself in a different time, same place. Women wear corsets and layers of clothing. No high heels and certainly no cars.

Left to stand on the sidewalk talking to her Wolf, she attracts the attention of a banker named Simon. He has no idea why this woman is in his town wearing strange clothing, but he knows he needs her. The two of them are unquestionably drawn together. Sadly, their time is limited. Ava and Simon find themselves in a whirlwind romance full of heat and passion. A relationship Ava tries very hard to fight. She doesn't want to fall in love with someone she cannot spend eternity with. She may be whisked back in time any moment. Useless to fight it, she surrenders and opens her soul to him.

I was on the edge of my seat through every page turning moment. The characters and secondary characters in this book need their own stories. I wanted to know more about them and I hope there will be more about this town called Strange Hollow. Sandra Sookoo describes the townspeople and the place so vividly. It's a place you are certainly sucked into. After I finished the book, I had a hard time remembering I wasn't 'actually' there.

It has a 'not so typical" ending and you will not forget it. It was a refreshing twist on the happily ever after. The sassyness of Ava and her wolf combined with the charm and desperation of SImon are a wonderful combination. I laughed, I cried and a few hours after reading this--I still teared up thinking about it.

Definitely a great read!!
