Fleeing from a dangerous situation, the ruse is necessary. Jamie and his mother have been on the run, but when Jamie's disguise becomes more trouble than it's worth, he has to decide if leaving it behind will free him from the arms of a predator seeking to make Jamie his.
From a life of deciding which heels to wear with what outfit, Jamie falls into a world of dragons, vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters. And he discovers he's one of them... but doesn't know which one.

Review: A very original story. I will admit to saying “OMG—354 pages!” upon opening the book. However, by the time I reached the end, I was saying “354 pages weren’t long enough! More!” So this is a series that I will definitely be following.
It starts with Jamie Dexson-who is a boy that has to pretend to be a girl to stay alive-writing in his journal, about the events in his life. We not only learn of what happened in the past from his journal entries, but what’s happening now, as he’s living it. The journal reveals that Jamie, his mom and his mom’s partner Catherine are on the run from Jamie’s father, who wants Jamie dead. By the end, you’re not sure who’s who anymore, as the plot twists and turn. Is Jamie hiding because his dad really wants him dead, or does his father have ulterior motives, and just wants Jamie to think that?
