Blurb: Widowed Anna Sinclair is stunned when life long friend Daniel Mercy asks for her hand at the funeral of her deceased husband. Destitute and expecting, she’s in no position to turn him down.

Married in secret to the woman he’s always loved, Daniel Mercy ineffectively skirts Charleston's town gossips. Glares and whispers are easy to evade, until Daniel is accused of murdering Anna’s late husband.

When Anna is kidnapped, she discovers the one secret Daniel has hidden from her.

Review: You want me to say it was good? Yeah it was. Edge of your seat at times? Uh huh. Pulled me in so much that I was up into the wee hours of the morning so I could find out what was going to happen? You betcha.

A really good story with characters that bounced. A couple of pretty funny scenes gave it just enough spark to break the tension at times. My only wish is that at times I hadn’t been so confused. Not that it detracted from the story much but there were parts that just left me puzzled until the end. Have you ever seen the movie Sommersby? It’s one of those that the more you watch the more little things you pick up on and the story starts to make sense. I have a feeling that if I read this one again, my mind would pick up on little things here and there and I would really GET the full story as the author intended when she wrote it.

That being said DON’T think that I didn’t like it because I did. Ms Spradling is a very talented author and I enjoy her work :)

I've had the pleasure of seeing this manuscript in its early stages and always knew great things would come of it. Looking forward to reading the final edit!
