Blurb: Devastated by her guardian's death, Hope Lewis must travel to West Texas to live with her closest relative, an uncle she’s never met. But a dark secret puts Hope in harm’s way as a brutal renegade targets Hope and vows to destroy her uncle and his protégé, Ethan Kincaid. And the dangerous raider is only half her problem as she battles her confusing attraction for Ethan.

After the murder of his fiancée, Ethan Kincaid is dedicated to revenge. He’s vowed never to love again, but Hope pushes his resolve and self-control to their limits. Can he risk his heart a second time, or are some wounds too deep to heal?

Review: I love historicals. But when I come across a historical like this, that has the ability to leave me breathless, pulls at my emotions and drives me to keep reading no matter what is happening IRL? Yeah, total winner.

I was smitten with the characters from the start, no doubt. But when I got to the first "kiss scene", OMG! HOT and they didn't even kiss :) Ms Huber has a gift with weaving emotions and building characters that made me feel like I was a part of. I wanted what they wanted. Felt what they felt. Their sorrow, anger, fear, torment.....

This is not a quick short read. This novel is over 300 pages but once I started I was driven to finish. I had too. I couldn't leave Hope and Ethan. Oh what a great story. Now I keep my fingers crossed that since this is to be the first in a series that I get to know Antonio better in the second book.

This is a series you can count on me following.

*SNAPS* Ms Huber, You made my day :)
